1st Topic : WHERE THERE IS NO WILL, THERE MAY NOT BE A WAY
A Will is an important document a person should have drawn up in his life time because intestacy is not the way to go. It is so simple to have one done, and it costs so little. But sadly many people overlook this and if they were to pass on suddenly, it is likely to bring immense hardship to the very people they said they love - their spouse and children

He is an Associate of The Chartered Institute of Bankers, London; a member of Malaysia Institute of Management and International Association of Registered Financial Consultants (USA). With over 25 years' experience in Corporate Finance, Consumers Banking and Branch Business Development, he has served as Branch Manager to many banks in the country. When financial crisis hit Malaysia in 97/98, Chia was appointed Manager, Corporate Recovery in a bank's KL HQ responsible for managing/restructuring large NPLs of some PN4 companies, a post he held until his retirement in 2002. Mindful of the untold sufferings inflicted upon many bereaved families due to problems of intestacy that he has personally witnessed as a branch manager, he feels strongly about helping as many families as he can to avoid such unnecessary financial, legal and emotional problems arising from intestacy. Since taking up the profession, Chia has helped more than 200 families to secure peace of mind, with properly planned and structured Wills and Trusts. He has also been invited by many clubs, associations and charity societies to give talks on this topic to theirs members.
2nd Topic: DON'T PUT ALL YOUR EGGS IN ONE BASKET
It is really important to have a Will drawn-up because intestacy is not the way to go. It is so simple to have one done. Though a Will is essential in creating an estate plan, whether a simple or comprehensive one, assets can be distributed only when you get Probate from the High Court. Moreover, the assets will not be protected from your creditors or that of your beneficiaries. A Trust, commonly known as Living Trust, can avoid the hassle of going to the courts and when structured properly be able to protect assets against creditors. There are many more reasons to have a Trust to provide for your loved ones and even yourself. The topic will explain the various usages of Trust. Your loved ones will love you even more when you have a Will and Trust.
